Currently, we are seeking a Warehouse Specialist to support the Environmental Protection Agency in Gulf Breeze, FL. This position is part of the Service Contract Act (SCA), and wages are based on the Wage Determination.

Job Summary:

Assist with a variety of warehousing duties that are required to ship and receive instructional material, equipment and supplies.

Essential Duties:

    • Open and inspect warehouse spaces. Any security violation must be immediately reported to the Security Manager and the TPOC for investigation.
    • Maintain a signed log for all personnel accessing warehouse spaces.
    • Maintain a signed log for all MHE (truck, forklift) check out by customers.
    • Accepting shipments, verifying materials received against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages to TPOC.
    • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations: storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with the prescribed storage methods given by TPOC.
    • Preparing equipment for shipment by boxing (if necessary), palletizing, shrink-wrapping and forwarding to shipping dock by hand/power truck/pallet jack.
    • Rearranging inventory to TPOC's requests and taking inventory of stored materials on paper format to ensure accurate inventory data owned by TPOC.
    • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage when found to TPOC immediately.
    • Update an excel file with all receiving and shipping material on a daily basic and be able to provide a weekly or monthly report via e-mail to TPOC within 24hr notice.
    • Keep storage area clean of trash and excess shipping materials and will keep storage area neat and organized.
    • Operate forklift, hand/power trucks/pallet jacks while performing warehousing duties
    • Daily inspect MHE for cleanliness and good working condition and report any problems to TPOC.
    • Fuel all MHE as need it. All fuel receipts will have to be turn in to NETPDC Admin.
    • Copy and keep all records of inventory changes in paper format in WS own filing system. Computer accessibility or spreadsheet manipulation is not required.
    • Assist with inventory as requested.
    • This position requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle and forklift. A valid driver's and fork license are required for the position
    • Secure the building at the end of the work shift. This will include verifying that all packing equipment, fans and lights are turn off and all doors, gates, locks and keys are accounted and secured.
    • Paper documentation on each shipment received verifying materials received per government provided template for inclusion into the inventory system.
    • Paper documentation verifying equipment removed from inventory to satisfy each shipment sent per government provided template for inclusion into the inventory system owned by the TPOC.
    • Maintain signed packing slips indicating acceptance of a shipment and verification that shipments a received undamaged upon visible inspection within 24 hours.
    • Will notify changes of inventory and maintain government TPOC with copies of shipping and receiving documents within 24 hours of receipt or shipment.
    • Contact local tenants to arrange proper time and place for deliveries.
    • Physically check in and check out with TPOC each working day to verify working hours and presence.
    • Requested reports will be emailed to TPOC within a 24-hour notice.

Qualifications

  • Possess knowledge and have at least 1 year of recent experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Must posses a valid driver's license and forklift license
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.

 

Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma

Working Conditions:

Work is done inside and outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. Employee is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises, falls from ladders, falling material, or injury from equipment. May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents and high noise areas while working in mechanized work area.

Physical Requirements:

Works on hard surface and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries weights up to 40 pounds. May handle heavier items with weightlifting equipment or with assistance for other workers.
