Summary/Objective: Perform various warehouse support services.

Essential Functions:

  • Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
  • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
  • Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment
  • Shipping/Receiving
  • Inventory
  • Loading and unloading trucks (government owned trucks)
  • Operate a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials along with other Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Perform other Warehouse and labor related services as assigned by SSA-designated representatives.

Qualifications:

  • Possess knowledge and have at least 1 year of recent experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and forklift license
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Experience working with Intellitrack handheld scanners

Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma

Working Conditions:

Work is done both inside and outside, in open docks or storage yards and may occasionally be required to perform services during overtime, i.e., due to deliveries arriving in the late afternoon or special/urgent requirements. Areas may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. Employee is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises, falls from ladders, falling material, or injury from equipment. May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents and high noise areas while working in mechanized work area.

 

Physical Requirements:

In exercising these functions, the contractor employee must frequently lift, bend, stoop, climb, pull and exert up to/and sometimes lift over 50 lbs. The contractor employee will be on their feet constantly moving objects approximately 80% of each working day. In addition, the contractor's warehouse workers must have the ability to operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, and shrink wrapping machine approximately 20% of the time.
